"I have just browsed your site. I am a bird lover & have knowledge of what is involved in having a bird as a "pet". I use the word "pet" loosely...I see them as family members. I had my fourteen year old cockatiel, Leslie Damien, die last month. I had Leslie since he was about thirteen weeks old & he was the love of my life...what a character!!! I am fortunate to have a vet who is compassionate and very knowledgeable. I chose not to have a necropsy so the best my vet can tell...Leslie probably had a tumor in his chloaca {excuse my spelling}.
In reading about your "residents", I can see several things...they too are wonderful life enhancers and most importantly...they are LOVED. That is my reason for sending this e-mail. I want to thank you for caring for the birds no longer wanted or who are handicapped. The information on your site regarding the care of birds is spectacular. As you all know, far too many people don't understand that getting a bird is a life long commitment. It is my hope that many people will find your site and learn all that you have to offer based on experience and knowledge.
