Dear Mary,
We have had our Moluccan for 2 1/2 weeks now. He is wonderful. Very active, no speaking that we can tell, but noisy at times. He loves being sprayed w/ a water bottle. He spends almost the entire day on top of or climbing around on the cage. We have a large tree branch nest to the cage and he likes to investigate that as well. His newest "game" is to reach under the bottom of the cage and tear up the newspapers. Very annoying, probably why he likes to do it. He adores the kids and climbs to the end of the door so he can reach out over the edge for attention. He has some issue w/ Hal, we are sure there is something in his past, since no problems have happened here with the two of them. Hal makes a special effort to give Floyd treats and spray him w/ the water bottle. Hopefully this will continue to reassure Pink Floyd of Hal's good intentions.
Wondering if Birds need regular vet visits, or just if there is a problem? Our next door neighbors have shared their bird magazines w/ us, so I am getting a quick education on some stuff. We would love for you to come see our set up if you have the time and desire. Pink Floyd rarely has down time. I can tell he probably will relish when we are away for vacations. Already found a neighbor who absolutely loves him and she will take care of him later this summer for a few days while we are gone. He is a great entertainer and has started really clowning around.
