Dear John and Mary,
My own personal adoption experience at The Tropics Bird Refuge were both positive and rewarding. I found the Bradfords to be knowledgeable and caring custodians in somewhat overwhelming circumstances. Sheer numbers alone would have been daunting for most people, no matter how good their intentions. But Mary & John didn't say no. Instead they didn't turn them away. Maimed, phobic, handicapped, they took them all.
The birds I personally adopted were healthy, well socialized and well fed. They told me up front if a bird was injured, aggressive, etc. Nothing was hidden such as undesirable traits or habits, etc. They told me everything "to their knowledge" up front.
These birds I adopted have been brought home with no regrets. They have gladly and eagerly become part of our family with no reservations or second thoughts.
My hat's off to you, Mary and John! I admire you not only for your sacrifice and hard work, but also for your dedication and love for something that has no choice or control over what happens to it.
