Greetings everyone!
Yesterday I turned 27 years old. I decided to take the day off from work and spend it volunteering at a parrot refuge called The Tropics. As many of you know I have been making stained glass parrots recently. I have done really well making them (enough to pay for a week long trip to Cozumel) and I felt the need to give something to the birds who have done something for me.
The refuge was an amazing place! They have over 300 birds! The Tropics is an organization solely dedicated to providing long-term care for handicapped and unwanted pet birds. I spent the day helping feed and water ALL THE BIRDS. It took me 5 hours there where so many birds!
I plan to continue to volunteer at The Tropics and donate money as they have been hit hard with the bad economy. Yesterday was a very fulfilling day for me, and I cannot think of a better way to have spent my birthday. A special thank you to Mary and John Bradford for dedicating their lives to helping these beautiful creatures.
