To Our Donors:
John and I would like to extend to you our heartfelt thanks for all of the support you've given The Tropics over the years.
The time has come to ask a very special, yet urgent favor of you. Since the terrorist attack in New York, our donations have dropped off to nearly nothing. We are very concerned for the more than 300 birds here that still need to be fed and cared for. Us, like most of you, have given donations towards the efforts in New York, but we still have to carry on with caring for these birds.
Each of our newsletters usually generates several thousand dollars. This revenue usually is enough for us to meet our operating expenses. The last one, mailed out about 6 weeks ago only brought in enough to cover its cost. Therefore, we are asking you for some extra support. We are concerned that people may have gotten the wrong idea now that we have the dome. The donors/grantors that funded the dome specified that the money was to go to the dome, and only the dome. We still have to have operating funds. At present, the newsletters are our only source of generating revenue. We have no other grants or corporate funding.
Whatever amount you are able to give and/or spread the word that we need immediate help, would be greatly appreciated.
